Written from a truly international perspective, it explains the ethical challenges faced by business in different parts of the globe, and provides the tools and concepts necessary to understand and deal with ethical problems effectively wherever you are in the world. It is the only text on the market that fully considers the implications of three major ethical challenges facing business: corporate citizenship, globalization, and sustainability.

Good compared to most, but does not question the basic corrupt assumptions
By August Williams
For instance, Crane and Matten define business ethics as, "the study of business situations, activities, and decisions where issues of right and wrong are addressed" (2010: 5). This might seem entirely straightforward and unproblematic; however, this definition, as the authors make clear, is in a context perceived as so rife with corruption and deceit that the very subject of business ethics is often considered risible -- little more than fodder for ridicule and derision (2010:4).In both their definition of business ethics and in the explanation of why the subject is important, Crane and Matten separate business ethics from ethics generally, or what they refer to as "normative" ethics. Therefore, they do not confront the supposition from which so much harm has come, that some behavior is ethical in business but might very well be considered outrageously unethical in other domains of life.

Methodical ethics
By MLottes
This is my textbook for Ethics in Cross Cultural Interaction. It helps develop a framework through which we can study ethics and make ethical decisions. The focus is quite strong on case studies, where each chapter introduces some topics and then asks to apply them in a final case (that is true).
The text tends to be interesting and methodical, making ethics more a practice in applying a recipe than really understanding what ethics is about. As a business student I can understand why the author is avoiding the philosophical or even practical side of ethics and introducing it only as a formal set of rules, but... I feel that somewhat misses the point of studying ethics.
Overall it is an interesting look at applying existing ethical perspectives to analyze and make decisions.

The textbook you will want to keep on reading!
By Military Spouse
This started as a required textbook for my MBA studies, yet I found myself picking it up to read even after the class had ended.
Crane & Matten cover basic 'Business Ethics' theory yet also provide ample case studies that will challenge your assumptions about the way businesses choose to interact with their customers and with other organizations.
Although in some instances I felt the authors were a little too directive in their conclusions for my personal liking, there's no question that this is a thought-provoking read.
