Basic, Practical, Useful

I consider this a great learning aid for psychiatrists and trainees in psychiatry. Starting with the neurological symptoms and signts, the book continues by covering the most important topics in neurology that psychiatrist should know. Take note that it is not a textbook on neuropsychiatry, but on clinical neurology. That having been said, there is an (unavoidable) overlap with neuropsychiatry, although from how I understand the book, it is not the primary intention of the book.

In some areas, like the dementias, the content is very basic and on the "light side". However, that is the purpose of the book - giving the essentials (without overwhelming the reader). Once the reader has grasped the essentials he or she can study the very useful references the authors give.

After each unit of teaching (so to speak) the authors provide multiple choice questions (MCQ's). Since I find supplementing my own learning (and teaching) with MCQ's very useful, I was very impressed by the addition of MCQ's.

Thorough but not ideal for board review

Too thorough for board review if it's your first time going through it. Since I was studying after work, it took me approximately a week to cover a third of it. By that time I was forgetting what I learned in the beginning. Good for foundation of knowledge, and makes excellent class material. For quick board prep a couple months before your test, not so much. I found quick study guides passed around in residency and doing practice questions were effective.

element method. Gives a fairly good introduction to the
subject taking care to explain all the details. Draws examples
from various fields of mechanical/civil engg. Exercises are
helpful. Upon completion, the reader should be able to code in order to solve
many engg. problems of interest. The book
describes the popular Variational & Galerkin principles
mainly. Would highly recommend it to anyone new to the
subject of finite element.

In Bhakti and Embodiment Barbara Holdrege argues that the various transformations that characterize this historical shift are a direct consequence of newly emerging discourses of the body in bhakti traditions in which constructions of divine embodiment proliferate, celebrating the notion that a deity, while remaining translocal, can appear in manifold corporeal forms in different times and different localities on different planes of existence. Holdrege suggests that an exploration of the connections between bhakti and embodiment is critical not only to illuminating the distinctive transformations that characterize the emergence of bhakti traditions but also to understanding the myriad forms that bhakti has historically assumed up to the present time.

This study is concerned more specifically with the multileveled models of embodiment and systems of bodily practices through which divine bodies and devotional bodies are fashioned in Krsna bhakti traditions and focuses in particular on two case studies: the Bhagavata Purana, the consummate textual monument to Vaisnava bhakti, which expresses a distinctive form of passionate and ecstatic bhakti that is distinguished by its embodied nature; and the Gaudiya Vaisnava tradition, an important bhakti tradition inspired by the Bengali leader Caitanya in the sixteenth century, which articulates a robust discourse of embodiment pertaining to the divine bodies of Krsna and the devotional bodies of Krsna bhaktas that is grounded in the canonical authority of the Bhagavata Purana.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to revitalize a stale or stagnant relationship with God. My wife and I, as well as my small group, have gone through material in this manual, and it has led to much joy, unity, and a deeper understanding of God's love for sinful people like ourselves. It feels good to not need to pretend like we have it all together.
