Great reference for any cyclist

This is going to be my go-to reference for weight training. Not only are individual exercises covered in detail, but there are also sample workout plans that I can use to progress through the year. I’m working with my cycling coach to include the structure and programs outlined in this book in my annual training program. The exercise guide works well for me because the pictures are large and easy to follow in addition to the descriptions. I can see myself even bringing the book to the gym to use as a reference. I also enjoyed how the approach is framed to be used for overall health and wellness in addition to performance. I’ve read other weight training books that are more geared towards a single goal instead of a more holistic and long-term approach as outlined here. The author addresses how breathing, nutrition and even supplements fit into an effective weight training program. Overall, an excellent guide to weight training.

Not useful, not intuitive, questionable program

This book was a moderately-sized let down. It is not super informative, and what passes for information is basically just copy and pasted abstracts from scientific articles the author has picked and chosen. It gives one basic plan for weight training throughout the year, but does not go into much detail into how much time to spend on each phase, which is kind of a critical thing for periodization, which is what this book pushes. The pictures of the exercises are pretty basic and I'll probably have to lookup videos to do the exercises anyway.
There were also lots of grammar errors.
