First published in 1978, this hard-hitting exposition discusses the root causes of how and why Christian culture is dying. It investigates literature, culture, history, and religion in an attempt to show that education is increasingly about bureaucratic training and less about scholarly truth. A warning that cultural and artistic treasures of classical and Christian civilizations must be preserved, this provocative analysis diagnoses a cultural and societal malaise facing modern Western societies.

My husband wanted to learn more about this man, so I was pleased to find an out-of-print, very good condition book written by him.

It opened my eyes!
By Ray
This is a life altering book, as is the followup which I also rate with five stars. I am a Benedictine oblate at the Abbey where some students of Prof. Senior now reside. One is the Abbot, another the Prior. I can certainly understand the impact he had on their lives. Every Christian should read both of the books. They will by unaffected.

Not for everyone...
By B. Conyers
This is not an entertaining book, nor an easy read. But it is a remarkable study of the Death of Christian Culture. While written nearly 40 years ago, Dr. Senior was a prophet in his own time who recognized where we were headed. It makes the reader think and reflect on what he has seen during his own life, and recognize the fruits of certain actions the public has allowed either by vote and voice or by their silence.
This book challenges all of us to take responsibility for who we are and our part in the formation of history.
My particular favorite is his reference to the televison as being Satan's "Trojan Horse" into our homes! Think about it...and read his book!
